Rules and Regulations at Convention
General Items
- While this list is not all inclusive, it is meant as a general guide. For updated policy information, please refer to the Program and at Registration. Any disputes
will be settled at the discretion of the Convention Chairman.
- Although Convention is a self-policing gathering, it is not immune to the laws of Indiana. Please note that the Campground gate security is being provided by the Crawford County Sheriff's Department.
- Wear your convention name badge at all times. Name badges are required for all field trips, evening entertainment, and campground/school access. Please wear your name
badge in town and at local establishments to help promote good will with the Locals.
The Campground
- Everyone entering the Campgrounds must have a Convention name badge and a vehicle Convention sticker.
- All State and Federal laws will be enforced.
- Staff members working security will wear clearly marked and distinctive clothing. They will be available to assist campers with minor problems, missing persons, etc.. If a staff or security member asks you to do or not to do something, please voluntarily comply with his/her request. Local law enforcement will be called in repsonse to any aggressive behavior. Please resolve all conflicts through appropriate channels. Please remember that this is a gathering of friends and treat each other with kindness and respect.
- For HELP, please locate a Staff, Security, or Volunteer member. These people will be in radio contact with the Medical Station and local agencies. Emergencies should be
brought to the attention of Convention Staff.
- The Medical Station is located inside the Expo Hall and will be clearly marked from the outside entrances. The medical volunteers staffing the Station should not be expected
to cope with major medical problems. If you have a serious medical condition, please consider alerting our medical staff. All medical emergencies that occur at the Convention
must be reported to the Medical Station. They will either treat you or suggest you obtain further medical assistance.
- Not everything runs perfectly at Convention. Any hassles, complaints, praises, or emergencies should be brought to the attention of the Convention Chairman. Of course
if you bring a problem, please bring a solution to.
- No climbing on buildings.
- No smoking inside of buildings.
- For your campfire, please use only dead wood gathered from the ground. No pruning or cutting of trees, shrubs, bushes, nor altering the soil or enhancements made to the campground. Contain your fire in an approved fire ring. Never leave your fire unattended and extinguish all fires before leaving your campsite.
- Do not bring any wood from home for the campfire. By County Law, it is prohibited because of the Emerald Ash Borer. To learn more about this pest, click here.
- No motorized vehicles (atv's, scooters, mini-bikes, golf carts, etc.) other than your car or truck, permitted. Bicycles are o.k..
- You must have a light turned on for all moving vehicles after dark.
- There is a maximum 15 mph speed limit on site. Be very careful of cavers and children at play.
- Stay on campground property. All other surrounding property is off limits.
- No swimming in pond (that is on neighbor property.)
- Showers are available at the campground with an ample supply of hot and cold water. Portable toilets with hand washing stations are located throughout the campground.
- No crusing or riding in the back of open vehicles.
- No riding on top of, or hanging off of, moving vehicles.
- Please do not block the roads when you park. Do not park along the main entrance road between the gate and the shuttle bus pickup and dropoff area.
- Please deposit garbage and trash in proper containers. See Campground map or Registration for locations. It is appreciated if you do not leave your bagged-trash at
your campsite or next to the port-a-pots. It is illegal to discharge gray or black water on the ground. Sewerage disposal can be accomplished when the port-a-pots get cleaned everyday. Please signup at Registration for the day(s) that you wished to have your camper pumped.
- Please recycle and use the recycling bins located at the Campground and School.
- NOTE: In the past Conventions, some people have brought home furniture (sofa's, chairs, etc.) to the Campground and then leave it there after they pack up and head
home. Not only does this leave disposing of the items to the volunteers and staff, it increases the cost of garbage pickup. If you decide to bring furniture, make sure it goes
back home with you.
- All generators shall be turned off from 1:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m.
- Everyone must be packed up and leaving the Campground by 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29th.
- Bags of ice can be purchased through the JSS. They will have a tent and bunker set up in the Food Pavilion.
- All pets must be penned, caged, or on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pets. Owners are to quiet pets when they begin barking
or being noisy. When walking your leashed pet, please carry a baggie or the like to pick up its waste.
- Fireworks are prohibited. Firearms, BB and pellet guns and the like may not be discharged on the premises.
- Quiet hours are from 12:00 a.m. until 7:00 a.m.
The School
- All State and Federal laws will be enforced.
- Everyone entering the School must have a Convention name badge.
- With all events, there are bound to be items that are lost. Please turn in all items "found" to registration. Likewise, if you have something lost, check out the lost and found
at the registration desk.
- Showers at the School will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., Sunday through Wednesday; and 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Nightly Events
- You must be over 21 to drink any alcohol. Please bring your I.D. in addition to your name badge.
- All State and Federal laws will be enforced.
- A large bonfire is located in the south end of the Arena. This is for the Wednesday night campground party. Do not remove any wood from this area.
- Sister Winkie shrine will be located in the north end of the Arena. Please stop by and pay homage to her. We do not want her to smite us with any kind of weather troubles.
- At the Photo Salon, smoking is prohibited inside the event except in designated areas. The smoking areas will be well marked.
