Hot Air Balloon Rides (all week, weather permitting)Join cavers from the NASA Mojave Desert Science Expedition 2007 who will be will be giving hot air balloon tethered rides at the NSS convention, weather permitting. The NASA Spaceward Bound Program Team use a hot air balloon to test new remote-sensing equipment to detect subterranean formations such as lava tubes, caves and paleolakes as analog research for use on Mars. Jim Thompson, NSS 13154, and other members of the NASA team will be giving rides and explaining the use of infrared thermography from an airborne platform throughout the week.
